Choosing A Dining Table
Mix textures and styles – add warmth and interest to your dining room. Pairing neutral tufted chairs of different sizes with a rustic table creates a warm and welcome feel.
Add a Bench – this will give you that farmhouse look. Great for saving space, a bench can be pushed under the table when not in use.
Shape – Don’t automatically opt for a rectangular table, a round table provides intimacy and is more sociable than a rectangular or square table.
Modern designs – although rustic tables and chairs have been a popular choice for years, modern retro designs are also proving popular. Fresh, simple lines add a touch of style to any dining room.
Extendable tables are great if you like to entertain, if you invite family and friends over for a dinner party, you can use the extensions then take out the leaves to make it smaller to create more space when not in use. Be sure to allow a minimum of 36 inches from the table to the wall on all sides so that you have room to slide the chair in and out and have enough space to sit comfortably.
Finishing Touches
Adding a bookshelf or sideboard gives extra storage and your dining room could also double up as a study, a place to do homework, or a place to relax and read the newspaper over a cup of coffee.
